92nd Ave Lid Maintenance

As many of you have probably noticed, the 92nd Ave Lid's vegetation has not been maintained over the past month. This property is owned by the State (WSDOT). The City believes that as the owner, the State is responsible for their own maintenance. The State would like the Points Communities to be responsible for not only maintaining the landscaping but also maintaining many other more costly capital items that, together, would be very expensive for a small city. The Cities of Medina, Hunts Point, Yarrow Point and Clyde Hill are talking with the State to get this resolved. The Cities are willing to coordinate maintaining the landscaping and some capital items but expect to be reimbursed for this effort. There are continuing discussions going on right now to reach consensus, but no conclusion has been reached just yet. All parties know what the area looks like and will continue to seek an understanding as soon as possible. This is potentially a very expensive and important, long-term matter to the Points Communities, so careful discussions will need to continue until we have a meeting of the minds.
