SR 520 Bridge Expansion Joint

Since it opened earlier this year, the City of Clyde Hill has received numerous complaints regarding loud noises emanating from the new SR 520 bridge.  Working in conjunction with the other Points Communities, the City has conveyed this issue, as well as a request for mitigation, to State Representatives, State Senator, the Washington State Department of Transportation and Governor Inslee.  Updates as well as additional documentation will be provided on this web page as they are received.  Updates from the Washington State Department of Transportation can be found here: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/SR520Bridge/BridgeAndLandings/CurrentWork.htm#newbridgenoise

May 16, 2017:  On April 12th Medina met with the Washington State Department of Transportation to discuss the draft pilot project. The project involved applying special foam onto the expansion joints to mitigate noise. As a result of the meeting, Medina will ask Washington State Representatives to fund this project ($2-$6 million). To listen to the entire April 12th meeting, please click here.
