Change in Form of Government - INFORMATION

The November 8, 2022 ballot will ask the voters of Clyde Hill to choose between adopting the Council-Manager form of government or keeping the current Mayor-Council form of government.

This ballot item is the result of a petition from Clyde Hill residents. After King County’s Department of Elections verified the sufficiency of the signatures on the petition, the City Council, at the June 28, 2022 Special Council Meeting, selected the November 2022 election date.

The next step in the process is the appointment of the pro and con committees. Per RCW 29A.32.280, the City Council will appoint three (3) members to each of a pro and a con committee. The due date for Council to submit the six (6) names is August 2, 2022.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT INTERESTED PARTIES WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN EITHER THE PRO OR CON COMMITTEE SHOULD SEND AN EMAIL TO CITYHALL@CLYDEHILL.ORG STATING THEY WISH TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE PRO (CHANGE THE FORM OF GOVERNMENTOR CON (RETAIN THE CURRENT FORM OF GOVERNMENT) COMMITTEE.

Committee members will be tasked with creating explanatory and rebuttal statements to be included in November’s Voter Pamphlet during the first week of August.

Further discussion will be held at the next regular Clyde Hill City Council meeting July 12, 2022 at 7pm on this topic.

Thank you for your assistance in this important process.
