Slivka Appointed to City Council; City Welcomes New Elected Leadership

The Clyde Hill City Council voted unanimously to appoint Lisa Slivka for Council Position 1 at their January 9, 2024 City Council Meeting. Slivka was sworn into office by Mayor Steve Friedman and was seated immediately following her appointment. Slivka fills the vacant Council seat previously held by Mayor Friedman. The term of this appointed position will expire upon certification of the November 2025 general election.

Lisa Slivka has lived in Clyde Hill for 35 years. She obtained an MBA from the University of Washington and worked for Microsoft for six years before dedicating herself to community volunteering with local health and education focused nonprofit organizations. Silvka currently serves on the boards of the Overlake Hospital Medical Center and Eastside Health Alliance.

“I’m excited about joining the City Council and leveraging my experience working with multiple organizations and stakeholders to bring people together for a common cause,” said Slivka. “In the next two years, my goals for the City are to complete the Comprehensive Plan, make significant progress on Title 17 updates, and respond to State Legislative Mandates. I’m looking forward to hearing from residents to learn more about what is important to them.”

In addition to a new Mayor and appointed Councilmember Silvka, the City welcomes two newly elected City Councilmembers. Councilmember Steve Sinwell, elected to a seat temporarily held by an appointee, took office following certification of the 2023 general election results on November 28, 2023. Councilmember Ryan Olson, who began his term on January 1, was sworn in at the January 9, 2024 City Council Meeting.
